Beware the Woman Scorned

I have no plans on reading Sarah Palin’s political memoir, especially since the media is probably going to give us all the Cliff Notes version before the hype dies down. This will hopefully be my only comment on the book. It appears that she is devoting a fair amount of pages towards bashing the people involved with the McCain campaign. That’s all well and good and maybe she feels she needs to set the record straight.
My observation is that from time to time I have known people who will talk bad about literally every person they come into contact with. They act perfectly nice to them until they walk away and then you hear a dig. I always think to myself, “I wonder what they say about me when I walk away?” Palin no doubt has future aspirations of one kind or another. I just wonder how many veteran campaign managers are going to be lining up to help her, knowing that if it doesn’t work out, they can expect “Going Rogue: Part II”?

It never fails to amaze me how many people blame others for everything.
I know this is a different situation, but I immediately thought of my 14-year-old brother when I read this. If he doesn’t do something he’s supposed to, he has a hundred reasons it’s not his fault. If he doesn’t do his homework, for example, he didn’t have the book, he was doing chores around the house, his teacher didn’t explain it properly, etc., etc.
NP – My 15 year-old is exactly the same way. According to her every bad grade is a conspiracy among her teachers to get her. Accepting blame is apparently a very hard skill to master. Palin apparently hasn’t gotten there yet.
