The Last Eight Years

Ronald Reagan is often credited with asking voters, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?” I haven’t researched it but I would be willing to bet some variation of this questioned has been asked for almost as long as we have had Presidential elections. So I am going to take Obama’s advice and ask myself how my life has changed in the last 8 years:
- Graduated from college
- Married to the love of my life
- Bought a house (fixed rate, affordable mortgage)
- Promoted twice.
- Saw my income double.
- Never heard the word ‘layoff’ at work.
These are just a few of the items I can think of quickly and I know that other people have not been so fortunate. But when I’m asked to think of the last eight years it has been a pretty good run for me. Honestly, if the next eight years go as well I will feel very blessed.
