Didionsmommy,

It was a good time. Luckily I have several friends and family members with farms so these kind of things are do-able from time to time. My bachelor party was at another friend's farm. 20 guys, an afternoon of shooting skeet, grilled ribs and all the beer we could handle (after the shooting was over). I'm looking forward to attending the 4th of July bash again next year.

Prarie Flounder,
I was told those are called 'cakes'...whatever that means. The guy that had the party is sort of a friend-in-law but a very good friend helped with the set-up so he sort of explained it to me.

The 'cakes' were closest to the crowd (maybe 150 feet). They were by far my favorite. There was a good variety and that one in the last picture was pretty neat. (You can just barely see an American flag in the middle).

Beyond the cakes were bigger shells of various diameters with the biggest being about 1/4 mile away. There were some 'salutes' which just went bang and then a lot of your basic colorful stuff.

The whole show was controlled by computer and set to music. The timing was very well done. My favorite? POD's "Boom"

Boom!
Here comes the Boom!
Ready or not,
Here come the boys from the South

Imagine a salute at the end of the first two lines.

Great fireworks photos. Do you know what the effect was on the last picture? Professional interest. As we say in the experimental rocketry community: “Its not fun unless the BATFE gets involved”
